![]() "Pain & Gain" is one of those movies that will blow you away from the start! You know it's going to be good, but you have no idea how great it is until you see it. Pain & Gain has some of the most action-packed, jaw-dropping scenes that have been presented on the big screen in a long time. Wahlberg and Johnson star in this true story depiction of the insane acts committed by the Sun Gym gang during the 90s. So grab a spotter while we Unhinged this Review. Okay, so by now you've heard all the fuss of how the actual people this insane story happened to are upset. On behalf of Pain & Gain, we'll take on the responsibility to give a heartfelt, "Sorry about how things turned out". Now that that's over, Pain & Gain is an titan of a film to say the least. Walberg stars as Daniel Lugo, a crafty mastermind that is so tired of living the average life that he assembles a team unlikely criminals to achieve his dream. The team he creates consists of Mackie who plays Adrian Doorbal, a full fledge yes man that suffers from "little man syndrome", due to his extensive overuse of steroids. Then there's "The Rock" that plays Paul Doyle a.k.a Jorge Delgado, whose character is a combination of Carl Weekes and Mario Sanchez. This band of misfits enlists several other money hungry idealists to pull of the muscle-bound robbery of Victor Kershaw a.k.a Marc Schiller's fortune. Their train of thought is to achieve the goal, by any means necessary, but they forgot the most important part of any plan, Brains! This dark-comedy hosts some of the wildest laugh-out-loud scenes that you have ever scene Wahlberg or "The Rock" play to date. Now we all love a good Wahlberg and we love a solid Rock movie, but these two behemoths go neck an neck for some of the most epic laughs in cinema history. When's the last time you have ever seen Johnson play a drugged-out Jesus freak or see Wahlberg pump iron after committing one of the most uncanny murders to date. "Pain & Gain" is one of those films where you are asking yourself "Is this for real" the whole time because you know that it's based on a true story. This film is the movie that instead of taking the protagonist's side of things, it's shot from the villains perspective which ends up making movie history. Plus, the shape these guys get in for the movie is nothing short of "Diesel", I honestly didn't think that "The Rock" could get any bigger-then he goes and triples his size in "Pain & Gain". The movie contains a lot of fast action and a few bits of nudity, but this is often the life of weightlifters and young millionaires. I will point out that some of the scenes are rather unusual, but graphic none the less, as young viewers might misconstrue the actual ramifications from some of the crimes committed. We don't want anyone to go out and replicate any of the violence shown within this movie, but merely allow your acting favorites to do all the illegal work for you. A true sign of a good movie is when you feel like you actually went somewhere after viewing the film. You walk out of theater and try to remember what was going on before you purchased your ticket to pure bliss. I would love to tell you so much more about the film, but I'm sure some of you still haven't seen it, so I will save the rest for the comments. "Pain & Gain" is an awesome film to watch and it contains several quotable lines from two of Hollywood's most appealing actors, The Rock and Mark Wahlberg. Unhinged Reviews recommends this film for viewers looking for a new experience in film and any die-hard fans of Wahlberg and "The Rock".
