![]() "You'll never see this one coming, until it's staring you in the face!" -Unhinged Reviews To say that "Victim" is a unique film would be an understatement! This is one movie that totally takes you out of your comfort zone and shows you the demented genius of a doctor's rage. You have no idea just how far the good doc is willing to go to prove a point, but, you will soon find out. When we initially watched this film, we were floored by it's unconventional plot twist, but as the film panned out, we were entertained, nonetheless. Ready to uncover the mystery that is "Victim? Let's Unhinge... The teeth of this particular story lie in the fact that your driving blind for at least the first 30 minutes. You have no idea of the rhyme or reason in this production, but as the film progresses, you begin to see dots slowly connecting one by one. This is the sort of thing that would put someone off or cause them to stop the movie completely, but not us! Here at Unhinged Reviews, we are open to pushing the limits. And pushing the limits they do... That's the main reason we hung in there throughout the presentation because we wanted to see what they would do next. Torturing a man for sheer delight is something that we've all seen in film, but this one seemed to have a purpose, an edge if you will. When watching it, we thought "There's just something not right about that doctor" that drew us in until we hit pay dirt. Once we hit the point of the story, we thought, "Oh boy, here we go"! So, the movie begins with a wild scene of violence before quickly cutting to man having a cool drink in a pub before walking to his car. Along the way to his car, he is confronted by a cloaked man and shortly after that everything fades to black. The man(we call him man because he has no name in the film) wakes up in a cell of sorts with only a mattress and concrete walls surrounding him. He(Weigand) has no memory of how he got there and is just as clueless as you'll be to understand his reason for being captured in the first place. Of course he makes attempts to get out, but when you have a big 6'2 250lb man tossing you around like a balloon, there's not a whole lot that he can do. So he's stuck and completely at the mercy of his captors. Now there is a reason for their madness, a method to their passion, but that will only come into focus as the man's strength is suppressed. He must first become weak, before the truth behind their torment can be revealed to him, as well as, you the viewer. As we said in the beginning, this film does have a Hay-Maker tucked away in it's plot. If you start to wain when watching it, hang on because there is more to come! We've haven't seen anything like this in a while, but it's a welcome diversion to the blase fare of "three teens in a cabin". If only more writers were as creative as Michael Hultquist and Robert Martinez, these two definitely get the gold star for originality. So what do you think the twist will be? We recommend this film for those looking for something with a little wit that lives in the realm of horror, but not gore. This is for those that like a good eyebrow raising from time to time, a film that has them saying, "Just when I thought I'd seen it all". You can find this title on Netflix. Enjoy!
