Grandma's Acting A Little Strange
Now it's common knowledge that most kids have an overactive imagination when encountering things they don't understand, but in this case their concern is warranted.
Rebecca and Tyler Jamison decided it would be a wonderful idea to visit their mother's parents, in an effort to provide mom with some "much needed time" to get her groove on. But, what they didn't count on is that their mother's parents would be some of the weirdest people that they could have ever spent an entire week with. For example, whose grandmother asks them to clean the oven...from the inside...lol Now, Doris Jamison(Deanna Dunagan) (above) might look like the picture perfect grandma that makes cookies and milk in her sleep, but there's something peculiar about this woman. Maybe it has something to do with all the weird things she does after 930pm or maybe it could that she's literally off her rocker with no plans of return. "The Visit" provides a documentary style feature with a few "jumps and chills" thrown in to make this the most awkward, "Meet The Grandparents" movie ever. We're Ready To Go Home Now
For some strange reason, Rebecca's great idea to spend the week with Grandma isn't panning out so well. Seems Doris and her husband have a few family secrets that could prove to be more than suspicious during this haphazard week of "Hell" the Jamison kids unknowingly signed up for.
This is the farthest thing from a typical week with the relatives, as one crazy moment leads to the next, while all being conveniently caught on camera. Yep, the Jamison kids fancy themselves as young videographers and in "The Visit" they are primed to get some to die for footage that just might actually take them out. Let's just hope that they make it to the end of the week, before they run out of film or breath... After Watching, "The Visit"
We've got to give ol' Shyamalan an "A" for effort, as he yet again attempts to give viewers a unique experience that doesn't compromise any of his artistic beliefs and practices.
Now as we said above, "The Visit" is nothing to write home about, it's simply entertainment. So if you're looking to be entertained and you have some time to kill..give this one a whirl. -Unhinged Reviews- Looking For More Horror Reviews? Check These Out!
