![]() "The Theatre Bizarre is a nod to films of past! A definite must-see for fans of the short horror within a full story!" -Unhinged Reviews "The Theatre Bizarre" is a rather interesting collection of several short stories with themes ranging from sexual deviance all the way to psychological madness. Thoroughly enjoyed by many, this film has received mixed reviews for it's diverse variations of horror which are all interconnected by one underlying theme. When watching this movie, we the viewer, are taken back in time, as the short films focus more on the actual message in each story rather than relying on today's CG to sell the vision. A standout quality about the experience of watching "The Theatre Bizarre" is that the movie came out in 2011, but you'd swear it was from 1976. This is mainly because of the vintage theater in which each story is told, as well as, the unique host that introduces us to each new horror. You'd have to see the movie to truly know what we're getting at, but by the time the second story rolls around, you'll have a pretty good idea of what to expect for the duration of the presentation. The anthology begins with showing us a young woman working on some art, before being beckoned to a theater by an inviting light flashing in her window. The light intrigues her, it calls to her in pretty much the same way this film called to us. It peaked our curiosity. We saw the cover and we needed to know what was inside and now we are here on the other-side sharing our review. Not wanting to give it all away, we'll dish a little bit on two of the film's short stories, "Mother Of Toads" and "I Love You". M.O.T shows a young couple scouring the lands in search of excitement and "Boy do they ever find it'! We're talking black magic, hallucinations, spells and enough hot slimy goodness to knock the chill off your bones in the coldest of nights. This one can easily be considered the goriest in our opinion, but then again, what's gore to one may be fun for the other. The short film, "I Love You" is one that definitely plays with your psyche a bit, as both the viewer and main character are trying to figure out what is happening at the same time. So of course you know that means confusion for some, but if you're able to stick it out, we think you'll be pleased with the finished product. All we can really tell you about this one is that there will be Blood and a lot of it..lol Another key-point to mention about "The Theatre Bizarre" is that this movie's got a ton of directors, so the action never gets dull. You're continually hit with different subject matter as the films change equaling up to the perfect mixed bag for any horror movie junkie. Trust us, there's something in there that you'll enjoy, if your a true fan of horror. Who do we recommend this for? Hmm, definitely for those that are fans of "Creepshow" or "Tales From The Crypt" just to name a few similar titles. Is there nudity? What horror movie have you not seen that doesn't include some sexual implication if not a bit of flesh brushing the wind? Overall this is a good experience to be had when sitting around the house on a Netflix binge or when looking for an old horror film with a modern day twist. Enjoy!
