 "If there was ever a movie to make you want to buy a plane ticket and see the world, Walter Mitty is it!" -Unhinged Reviews "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty" is an amazing film that's full of life and an equally captivating story! Ben Stiller stars as Walter Mitty, a bland man with daydreams of a greater life for himself. Have you ever felt like that? Wishing that you could be the person that takes life by the horns and rides it into the sunset? Well, Mitty feels like that all the time, but for some reason he just can't seem to connect the dots. Well that is until something interesting happens at the office and... Ready to Unhinge? You didn't really think we were just going to give up the goods that easy did you(lol)? We would just hate to spoil all the wonderful excitement that this Stiller directed film has tucked away in it's vivid inner workings. We will tell you however, that this story is one of those films that transports the viewer out of their seat, you really will feel like you went somewhere after watching this. So to tell you what the movie is about, we'll start by telling you how it begins... Walter Mitty is just your average guy trying his best not create a fuss in his very safe, yet methodical life. Everyday things such as talking to a woman or mixing it up with his peers is a chore because well, his mind goes somewhere else. You see, Mitty is a daydreamer, but not like the dreamers you remember from school. We're talking dang near out-of-body daydreaming, like see you next year because my mind's gone to lunch and may never come back. Nothing's wrong with a healthy imagination, but when it prevents you from enjoying the life your living, it's a problem. So any thoughts of asking his boss for a raise or even one of his coworkers for a date is completely out of the question because to do that he'd have to be present in the moment. This is where Mitty spends most of his time, right in that spot where he could seize everything he ever wanted, if only he had the gall to take it. Until that is... Until one day, Walter's humdrum routine of knowing what to expect gets flipped upside down! So what happened? Well, we'll tell you that what ever it is, it's something that will require Mr. Bland to get up off of his hind end and break character. And when he does...it's amazing! "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty" has a lot of messages baked in it's cinematic goodness, but there's one that stands out like a sore thumb. The jewel we're referring to would be the one of "Live you life to the fullest, don't wait for it to happen, make it happen and be great". Well, that's what we got from it at least(lol). We've all been a Walter Mitty at some point in our lives, just waiting around for something to light our fire, but not anymore! It's 2014 folks, it's time to make it happen! Go out and get it! Whatever you're "it" is, as long as it doesn't involve you breaking any laws, we totally support you(lol). One more thing we'd like to mention about the film is that the soundtrack is killer! The placement of the songs is superb. Every song is well positioned at just the right moment to have you clapping in your seat and cheering for ol' Mitty. Especially the track by David Bowie, it's nothing short of right on the money. "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty" is definitely a film to see in theaters, if you haven't already had the pleasure. So there you have it, our thoughts on Walter Mitty. This is one of those feel good films that's family-friendly and one fantastic journey to experience. So if you haven't made your way to the theater yet, you just might want to make that happen before it slips away. It could be months before it comes out, but who knows...Stranger things have happened.
