I Ain't Afraid To Die Anymore... I Done It Already
The Revenant tells the story of a man named Hugh Glass(DiCaprio) fighting with all he has to regain everything he's lost.
The film is set in the wintry woods of the Louisiana Territory during a time when animal pelts were priceless and the risks to obtain them were even greater. Hugh Glass leads an expedition of trappers through the unpredictable lands promising them success and safety until a most unexpected event happens. This moment transforms their once peaceful and plentiful journey into a complete nightmare of arrows, freezing temperatures and death. Leonardo gives a solid performance, as he plays the Grizzly Adams roll to a "T" in this Alejandro G. Iñárritu western which was also inspired by a true story. The Proper Thing To Do Would Be To Finish Him Off Quick
Now of course you know no great film is without an antagonist. Let's welcome, Tom Hardy a.k.a John Fitzgerald to the party.
John Fitzgerald(Hardy) is the thorn in Glass's side. It seems his sole purpose on this earth is to make Glass's life a living hell. From the time these two get into the thick, he's already picking little fights here and there, maybe it's because of Glass's son? Or maybe it's because he's afraid that Glass might be the warrior... he will never be. Tom Hardy's performance in "The Revenant" definitely places him in a whole new tax bracket..lol We've all watched Hardy come up through the ranks with Mad Max and many of his other films, but this..this is special. Tom holds his own next to DiCaprio and the two of them together was just magic at the very Inception ^_^ After Watching, The Revenant
I've got to say this film delivered on the trailer's promise and also gave a bit more. It's not just a film of vengeance, there's also a nice little side story that adds some oomph to the final climax.
So if you haven't watched, The Revenant yet, go check it out this weekend! It's worth it. -Unhinged Reviews- Want To Read More Unhinged Drama Reviews? >Click Here<
