Going into this film, we didn't expect too much, but we we're definitely pleased with the expereince. "The Ledge" is captivating and intense, as it delivers some memorable performances from Terrence Howard, Liv Tyler and of course, Charlie Hunnam. It's a small cast film, but each member pulls their own weight. Definitely a great balance of star power. So What's "The Ledge" About? "The Ledge" is about a man stuck between a rock and a hard place, but you won't know just how hard that rock is until you watch the film. Hunnam stars as Gavin, an atheist, who gets mixed up with the wrong woman at the wrong time. It seems that one shouldn't pay so much attention to thy neighbor's treasure, but he isn't the only one in a tough spot. Terrence Howard stars as Detective Hollis, who is also hit with a bit of a whammy at the beginning of the film. His story connects with Gavin's conflict at "The Ledge". Yes, that's just what it is, a ledge, a place where people stand above everything else to contemplate their future fate. You see Gavin's pickle has him "so" shook up that he's only got hours to decide his next step, while it's Hollis's job to keep him from taking that step. So who will win? And what kind of trouble is Gavin's friend Shana(Tyler) really in? And why is Shana's husband so hellbent on making a believer out of a man who thinks that God doesn't exist? Just How Captivating Are The Performances? Well, like we said above, "You feel guilty after watching"..lol Never have we watched a film that made us feel responsible for the actions of others, it's crazy. As you watch Gavin go through his struggles, amidst sinful deeds, you know it's only a matter of time before his actions come to the light. And when they hit the light, you really feel like you're sitting beside him with your feet swinging over the flames. Then when you throw on Hollis's plight, it's just like 'Woww", you truly feel for the characters. There's a lot of heartache wrapped in Chapman's story and you have to remember this is the guy who brought us "40 Days and 40 Nights". Definitely a sidestep in another direction, but it shows a lot of promise in his screenplays, we're already looking forward to his next film. After Watching... "The Ledge" is definitely the film to see, if you want a thriller that's a little sexy, edgy and suspenseful at the same time. It's like being told a dirty secret and then watching the maid do the laundry..lol And boy do she's like to pop those sheets...lol Not literally, but you get what we mean. So where can you watch this bad boy? It's on Netflix, right now! Plus, you can always go to your favorite indie movie rental and support local stores.
