![]() " Getting ahead of the game has everyone looking for a way to cut to the top, but sometimes the slow road is the safest bet you could ever make" -Unhinged Reviews We bet our Counselor friend would've loved to have that little bit of information before ever thinking he could roll with the Big Dogs! Michael Fassbender stars in this 2013 twisty story of a clean-cut do good lawyer looking for a shortcut to riches, but what he finds is deadlier than he could ever dreamed. What do we mean by that? Well, instead of millions of dollars and lemonade, he finds a mosh-pit full of hyenas and cheetahs. No, not literally, but the gorillas he decides to partner with are wilder than he will ever be. Just how wild? Well to find out, Let's Unhinge! Wild as in, "You might get killed if you do business with these people"! That kind of wild, but you know when money is at stake, people just don't listen to reason. You've got to look at this thing from "The Counselor" shoes though, he's young, bright and full of spunk. He's got a beautiful girlfriend that he would love to marry and everything is within his grasp, so what could go wrong? Besides everything? Hmm, how about more than he would have liked, we're sure. "The Counselor" is a movie full of greed, lust and witty wordplay. It's one of those films that has you trying to look behind the television to see what's coming next, but all you see is the wall. Lol, good effort though. This movie has a quality mix of acting talents, we have The Counselor a.k.a Fassbender and we have the lovely Cameron Diaz playing Malkina. Malkina? That just sounds sexy doesn't it? We'll get into her character a bit later, but first, here's a few more people. Javier Bardem stars as Reiner and Penelope Cruz plays the naive cutesy wootsey girlfriend of "The Counselor". Did we forget anyone? Oh yeah and last but not least Mr. Brad Pitt playing Westray who is a cog in the wheel much like Reiner, but "Oooh" so much cooler..lol Yeah, so as you can see, this is one of those quick-witted saucy kind of movies with plenty of hot lead and people to keep us entertained for an hour or two. So how does it begin? Well, Reiner has been nudging The Counselor to to take advantage of his position of power for quite some time and he's finally going for the gold. That's right ladies and gentlemen, "The Counselor" a.k.a "The Lawyer" is going to deal with the devil! Not in the supernatural sense either, we're talking about the "Kilo white powder a.k.a F.U pay me or Die" kind of devil. The kind of business you don't want to mess with unless, you're last name is Montana. Funny thing about it is that even Reiner and Westray tell him that this is not the move to make, but what can you tell a man in love? F.Y.I Fellas- "You don't have to give her the moon, if you can't even afford the stars" Too many people get caught up in the wrong things it seems, but there's just something about that other side of the fence. Maybe it's because the grass is greener or the gnome has a miniature statue inside, who knows? Either way, it's better to shower people with love that you can afford rather than risk it all and put everything you've gained in jeopardy. Now for Miss Malkina(Diaz), the hot-blooded eye candy of Reiner. This character is sultry, intuitive and fearless with good reason because well, "Just look at her". It's freaking Cameron Diaz for crying out loud..lol Anytime she plays a darker role it just comes across so razor sharp that you can't help, but keep your eyes glued to the screen and wonder where she'll slither next. "Excellent casting choices girls" and by girls we mean Avy Kaufman and Nina Gold. So there's our spiel on "The Counselor"! It's an entertaining watch that has enough suspense and witty wordplay to keep the most rigid watcher twisting in their seat for a good 100 minutes or so. Have you seen "The Counselor" yet? If so, what did you think of it? If not, are you going to watch it now? -Unhinged Reviews- Thanks for reading this Unhinged Review of "The Counselor" and if you would like to support the site, please share this review with others.
