The Babadook Is More Than A Bedtime Story
"The Babadook" begins by showing a single parent named Amelia(Essie Davis) struggling to cope with the stress of life while raising a troubled child.
Amelia is much like most mothers you know working a full-time job and attempting to play Super-Mom at the same time. But, for some reason her relationship with her son has become strained throughout the years. Now most mothers have a natural emotional connection with their child, but in Amelia's case, it's almost as if she resents her child. But why? Meanwhile, her son, Samuel(Noah Wiseman) is doing any and everything he can to get her attention which is sadly falling on deaf ears. And that's when they find this book called, "The Babadook". The tale of The Babadook is a sinister story which sets off a chilling chain of events that feed on Amelia's turmoil and gradually manifests into an ungodly force. If Amelia is to overcome this powerful presence, she must address her own emotional demons or fall victim to an evil of her own creation. The Terror Within Us
As humans, we all are subject to encounter moments in life that we wish never happened. We come across periods where everything seems to be going wrong and we feel isolated and alone.
For some, we become comfortable living life in the shadows as a modern-day ghost, while others fight to reclaim what they've lost. Amelia's inability to deal with the stress in her life not only caused a Grand Canyon rift with her son, but allowed an evil force to enter. If we are to succeed as healthy emotional beings it's important that we face our fears rather than allow them to lead us astray. After Watching, "The Babadook"
You will be reminded of the importance in pulling together rather than pulling away during times of hardship.
"The Babadook" is one of those movies that does an excellent job of creating tension and suspense, while delivering an emotional tale many single parents cope with today. -Unhinged Reviews- Thanks for reading this Unhinged Review of "The Babadook", please share it with a friend who also enjoys a good thriller with a purpose.
