Man's Fight Against Time
In the picture above, you will find a man laying on what most would consider his deathbed.
He doesn't appear to be in any pain, but from what you can see in his expression, his time is running out.
This man is named Damian(Kingsley), he's a rich and powerful man who has enough money to buy all the doctors in the world and yet he doesn't have enough money to purchase more time.
Time is the greatest asset any man, woman or child will ever possess in this world, but it's often the most overlooked.
As Kingsley, well Damian finds the sands of time slipping between his fingers he is offered a life-changing proposition.
He is given the opportunity to purchase more time and extend his life well beyond the limitations of science.
But, as we all know, "Any deal that sounds too good probably is".
The price Damian is looking at paying for immortality will not only put a dent in his pocket, but take an even greater toll on his conscience.
Because after all, how can a life be given if another one isn't taken? This is the riddle Damian attempts to solve in Self/Less.
It's a captivating ride of Sci-Fi/Drama that will remind you of just how priceless your time on this earth really is.
Is Immortality Worth The Hassle?
If you were presented with the chance to live forever, would you? Would you withstand the grim reaper's burning blade if it meant you only needed to send someone else in your place?
Interesting concept, but even more, it's an intriguing story to watch unfold.
When you view "Self/Less", you will see Damian contemplate questions such as this, as well as, his true wealth in the world.
Most of us today, think that money is the end all be all even though we've seen the destruction it can leave in it's wake.
We're not saying money is the root of evil because it's not, but money can open doors that most people will never know exist.
Once you watch Damian's story, we'd like for you to come back and tell us what you would in his shoes. Tell us if for you, the cost of immortality is a fair price or too high to live with.
After Watching, Self/Less...
We've got to say Ben Kingsley is looking rather dapper these days. He has this suave smooth bald confidence that will keep us watching his films for years to come.
Self/Less in a nutshell is a movie about immortality that zooms in on the value of what it truly means to live forever. This is a film best served to those with an open mind about the possibility of one day never having to face the end of time.
