![]() "RoboCop 2014 sets the new standard for remakes! " "Amazing story with Edge-Of-The-Seat Action!" " A must-see film!" -Unhinged Reviews- Alex Murphy is back and he's "Bad-Ass"! This by far is one of the best remakes that we've seen in a long time. Joel Kinnaman delivers as Alex Murphy in this futuristic story of an injured cop that is rebuilt into one serious piece of machinery. "Cyborg or not, this cop is the truth!" "RoboCop 2014" pays respect to the original story, but also makes waves of it's own. Now, it's time to get down to business, as we Unhinge this awesome film! First thing that we would like to do is applaud Joshua Zetumer and José Padilha, along with the rest of the crew, for coming together to create this masterpiece. A lot of screenplay writers, directors will often fall short when they try to remake a film, but these guys got it right! What they did differently than a lot of others is allow the cornerstone of the story to guide them as they incorporated the mindset and possible technology of today's tomorrow. Simply put, the future in this film doesn't seem so distant which makes it that much easier for us to connect with. Before we begin, we know some of you have seen the movie and some of you haven't yet bought your ticket, so we will proceed with caution. We're going to discuss this movie with the assumption that no one has even seen the original, so first-timers aren't confused. Vets can fill in the pieces, but just know that a "Mega Comparison" between the two films is coming soon! So now that that's out of the way(lol), the movie begins by showing the manner in which future law-enforcement will no longer be sufficient in keeping the majority safe. Criminals will have refined their processes to the point in which "we" must lean on robots to maintain safety in our day to day living. The entire world has adopted this fact, all except for one country. Can you guess which country is dragging their heels on protecting the people? Unfortunately it's us, but for the movie's sake, this isn't such a bad thing. The American people are not comfortable with the idea of having thousands of metallic emotionless beings hind-stepping their every move, so hence the purpose of RoboCop. But what is Robocop? Robocop is a cyborg which means that he is half organic material(man) and half-robot(metal-technology). Just the idea in itself is an interesting concept, but did you know that we are already there? We're not as advanced as our Joel Kinnaman(Murphy), but we've already blended man with modern technology and that's in the real world. Now that you know what Robocop is, we can tell you that the movie is about his creation and what it means to be. This is a movie about a cop attempting to find himself after experiencing a would-be tragic set of circumstances. This is also a film about a man overcoming insurmountable odds with the aid of brilliant minds manipulating futuristic technology. This movie is so many ideas rolled into one, but initially, you will only focus on the ideas most obvious.
We could spend all day here talking about this film and we would love to, but you've got a movie to watch..lol If you haven't seen "Robocop 2014", make it a top priority. The movie is solid, don't listen to the naysayers, this movie rocks! Now as far as the "Mega-Comparison" it's coming, in the very near future, like next week future..lol We won't hold back on any of the tidbits, you'll want to make sure that you've seen both of them as well, so that nothing is spoiled for you.
