![]() "If you take a man's child, you better be ready to endure his wrath" -Unhinged Reviews "Prisoners" is a 2013 film about the lengths one man will go to when his most beloved daughter is taken from his reach. Hugh Jackman stars as Keller Dover, in his most emotional roller coaster ride yet, full of anger, rage and uncertainty. Jake Gyllenhaal also stars in this film as a twitchy detective that always follows through on a promise, but can he keep this one? We've got to say it was a surprise to see Wolverine put the claws down and play daddy for a bit, but we knew there was a softie in there somewhere..lol Hugh did an an excellent job of portraying the concerned father, even though most of the time we see him, he's virtually unstoppable. However, in this film, the story is much different and there are no X-Men familia to pick up the slack. It's all Jackman(Keller) baby! So, the movie begins with a couple of friends getting together for a little venison and a few hot toddies. You know how the gatherings go, kids play in the front and adults relax in the back or vice versa. Well that was the plan, initially, but somehow things got a little twisted a long the way. See, while the parents were tossing back a few suds, the kids went for a walk across the street and for some strange reason... They never came back. Oh the drama and confusion that unfolded soon after! Parents running here , there and everywhere in between looking for their little girls. Even Terrance Howard(Franklin) got in on the action as he looked high and low for his little sapling, but still the children would be found. Fortunately for them, Mr. Smooth a.k.a Mr. Jakie Wakey a.k.a Detective Loki(Gyllenhaal) is on the case. He's going to need everything he's got to crack this one and even then it might not be enough. For all he knows the children could be dead and all he's got to go on is a creepy RV that was parked outside the Dover home only moments ago. As we stated up above, "Prisoners" is an interesting watch with plenty of drama and suspense to go around. The actors gave quality performances and you could really feel the emotional twinge of pain the characters experienced within their plight. So if you're looking for a softer side of the X-Man, check out "Prisoners" today.
