![]() "Oz The Great And Powerful" has got to be one of the years biggest films, thus far! It was everything I wanted it to be and more! As an "Oz" watcher since childhood, I've been able to see several versions of the Oz story and this has got to be the best one yet. James Franco, Mila Kunis and several other stars gave top-notch believable performances in this fantasy film. "OTGAP" is a movie for all audiences, kids, adults, grands and even great-grands. The visual imagery is definitely up there with "Avatar", as they have created a smorgasbord of acutely appealing eye candies for all to feast on. I believe this is the reason that they have both 2D and 3D presentations of the film. I myself watched the 2D and was blown away, so I can only imagine how much more brilliant the colors are in 3D. Now, don't get it wrong, this movie is more than Supreme visuals, keep reading if you want to know more. This movie actually illustrates how Oz came to be the Great and Powerful man that we all know and love today. It wasn't an easy road, but he was able to make the impossible possible with the help of a few characters he meets while exploring the incredible land of Oz. I know your dying to know who's in the story and what changes are there, but this is not a spoiler site, you have to watch the movie. And once you watch the movie, you come back and we can get into specifics about how amazing this film is. So for now, I will just give you a few tidbits here and there. I've already discussed the visuals above which are stellar and can't be talked about enough. So let's see what else can I tell you? There are a lot of appreciated nods to the former versions of the story which add humor to an already hilarious fun film. The movie has an interesting theme that I never noticed before about a parallel between this world and the world of Oz. Almost reminds you of Alice in Wonderland, except they weren't taking hits of acid while writing the story. This is definitely one of those movies that I'm sure you can notice new things in if you watch it more than once. The cast selected for the film did a phenomenal job of interacting with the CG characters and backgrounds throughout the entire presentation of the film. Normally you would have the actors in-front of a green screen the entire time, but this round they actually have some physical props to sweeten the actors' direction. James Franco really stands out for how well he does with his "little buddy" that accompanies him through his travels(you'll know when you see). I've got to say, I'm a full grown adult and I was geeked the whole 130 minutes of awesomeness. And we can't forget about the lovely, Mila Kunis(Theodora), for she gave a quality performance herself throughout the film. I've got to say, she is really coming into her own, as she gets bigger and better roles. She managed to maintain her sexy, while still living within Disney's PG rating, so a big hats off goes to Mila. I think I'll wrap it up here for now, Go see the movie, it's Awesome, it's Epic, it's everything you want Oz to be and more.
