Tony Stark delivers another awesome, action packed thrill ride in Iron Man 3!
This particular installment in the Iron Man series hits the trilogy mark, but could definitely continue on for many more years to come. Robert Downey, Jr. gives the Iron Man character the raw swagger of a charismatic genius with a genuine heart to remind us all that he is one of us, a human. Epic explosions and advanced technologies within Stark enterprises will keep any viewer glued to their seats for a full 2 hour presentation of Marvel delight. Unhinged Reviews goes beneath the suit to let you know why Iron Man 3 is a film you need to see now!
In Iron Man 3, we find Starks buried even further into his experiments as he explores new areas of "suiting up" to demolish would-be global/domestic threats, but most importantly to keep his beloved, Pepper(Paltrow) safe. Starks has had some time to begin reflecting on some of the battles he has endured over time and it is evident that all of the excitement has begun to take it's toll on Tony's stability.
As Iron Man battles the crisis within, a new threat of terror emerges by the name of "The Mandarin(Kingsley)", an extreme terrorist responsible for many of the world's greatest tragedies. Iron Man must pull himself together to save the world from a grave danger, but can he do it in time? There aren't many films that can pull off a trilogy without becoming cheesy or predictable, but Iron Man 3 does it without even batting an eyelash. The film's plot doesn't stray too far from the course either, even with moments of Iron Man literally recharging his batteries while mixing it up with other characters not directly related to the franchise's previous successes. For example, Harley is a character played by Ty Simpkins, that allows viewers to see some of Stark's human vulnerabilities and further outlines the distinction between Starks and his creation, Iron Man. It's easy to think of Tony and Iron as one, but we have to remember that the Iron Man is simply the combination of Stark's mind inside of a Kick-Arse weapon. This film has a lot of layers that we can sift through all day, but I will just shed light on a few standouts that I felt were more than noteworthy. The character of the Mandarin adds some elements of suspense that have not yet been seen in the earlier films, but it's not all without a most unexpected twist. You'll have to see the film to know what I'm talking about because I'm not going to spoil the sweet-goodness here. Also, I'll mention, Pepper(Paltrow) gains some girth in the film to remind us of just how vital she is to the survival of Iron Man. You know they say behind every great man is a great woman, if you find one anything like Potts, I'll take two(lol). Another standout feature in this film is that we are reminded of how remarkable we can be when we put our ideas and passions into action. For Tony Starks, it's the advancement of weapon technologies and you can see just how epic his life is, but what will it be for you? Are you stuck not willing to let go of your fear and experience the true depths of an idea coming to fruition? Fear is a crippling disability plaguing a lot of brilliant minds which we must all battle at some point and time if we are to reach "Iron Man" status. As you will see in the film, Starks battles self-doubt and worry like the rest of us, but it's what he does with it that sets him apart. All in all, Iron Man 3 is an ironclad film that exceeds all expectations without asking you to do more than watch and Marvel. Unhinged Reviews recommends this film for Downey enthusiasts, as well as, lovers of quality action films that actually have a solid plot. I reviewed the 3-D presentation of the film, but I'm sure the 2-D would be just as good without the glasses. So if you haven't seen "Iron Man 3" yet, go today and then come back an tell me what you thought. And for those that have already seen it, what was your favorite part about the film?
