![]() "Some days we're happy and some days we're sad, but some days we are Interrupted" -Unhinged Reviews "Girl Interrupted" is one of those films that can either scare you or pull you in, depending on your understanding of mental illness. For us, it's an amazing film showing several women working through issues that have somehow become too much to handle without psychiatric care. For others, it may just be something to watch until the next X-Men comes out, who knows? But, what we can guarantee about this film is that you will be blown away by Angelina Jolie's performance! So grab your meds, it's time to Unhinge! "Girl Interrupted" by nature, isn't one of those "I'm going to jump out the window and chew my arm off" films, but rather a deeper more rewarding kind of experience. You know one of those movies you can get lost in when your just twilrin about in your underoos or whatever you're wearing these days or not..lol The kind of viewing experience that causes you to reflect and wonder if your off-beat personality isn't as abnormal as you thought. Or maybe your obsession with cutting the corners off magazines isn't as obscure as your mother would like you to think it is? To put it simply, when it comes to mental health, we are all a little out there. Each in our own way, but no one is perfect and there is always another point of view. Is the glass half-full or half-empty? Is it 15 til 7 or is it 6:45? It's all the same thing, but it tilts to one side depending on your perspective and it's that gray area that "Girl Interrupted" thrives in. You see Winona, we mean, Susanna had this little idea of thinking that taking a few extra pills could help her sleep soundly through the night. Who hasn't thought that a time or two, but in her case, she took a few too many and landed herself in Claymoore Hospital. Wait a minute, wait a minute! She took a "few extra pills" and ended up in the hospital? Yep. Was she trying to kill herself? It's possible or maybe she was just looking for a temporary escape. Well either way, her little overindulgence of the pill form takes her away from everything she knows and guess what? She found her escape, but it didn't come as she expected and it was actually a better rest than she could have ever imagined. Now don't get us wrong because we're not endorsing that you take more meds than prescribed, but merely indicating that sometimes small actions create bigger waves than we expect. A moment of clarity for one can be seen as a moment of insanity to another. Which brings us to Lisa(Jolie), the beauty that is a few fries short of a happy meal. This girl has some serious issues, we're not talking People Magazine either, we're talking global nuclear meltdown U.S.A. Some of those back issues that are tucked away in Area 51, this girl is completely unstable! The only thing keeping her together besides her unchallenged beauty is her ability to manipulate and influence those who are weak and easily led. Lisa is the ultimate sociopath, the one that is not burdened with a conscience and could give two pits about the feelings of another. So you can imagine why she and Susanna become so close during their stay within Claymoore. You see Susanna, isn't sure if she's insane or not, but Lisa, she knows who she is and isn't afraid to be herself. As we said above, "Girl Interrupted" is a quality film revolving around mental illness portrayed by the enchanting Ryder and the Sexy Jolie. If you haven't seen this film yet, it's one to see because it's just that good. It has a little something for everyone: manipulation, rage, Jared Leto! Oops, did we let that slip? Or maybe we said it on purpose..hmmm? Enjoy If you like this Unhinged Review of "Girl Interrupted" please share with others to promote the site!
