![]() "G.I.Joe Retaliation" delivers the goods, if you haven't seen it go see it now! Roadblock(The Rock), Snake Eyes(Ray Park) and the Duke(Tatum) are all there with the rest of the Joes bringing the thunder in yet another action packed blockbuster! This time the Joes are set up for stealing some nuclear warheads, but it's not their fault they were following the president's orders! But, if you know the Joes, you know they won't take this one on their backs. Formulating a master plan that involves bridging an alliance with an ex-brother in arms, the Joes rage against the machine. This movie was action packed from start to finish, as they loaded some heavy duty artillery into the every clip of this film. Even when things weren't being blown up, the story was compelling enough to keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next. The pace of the film allowed room for some back-stories to be explained without the action dying down. Jon M.Chu, the director, did a wonderful job of keeping the Joes up to date with the times today, while not forgetting their pasts. The casting crew also did an excellent job of matching actors with the characters of this film. For example, look at The Rock a.k.a. Roadblock, it's almost like he grew another back just take on the weight of Roadblock's role. Bruce Willis, he could have very well played himself in this one, but slipped easily into the role of General Joseph Colton. And we can't forget Snake Eyes(Ray Parks) or Storm Shadow(Byung-hun Lee) as they moved with stealth and deadly grace in each of their respective roles. When you watch the movie you can definitely tell that the actors enjoyed making these iconic characters come to life..again..lol. Now we can't give all the glory to the Joes as Cobra had their game on stilts, standing tall and looking good. Cobra's been busy as they have developed new technologies to take on the appearance of others and even flip a major city on it's arse with the push of a button. Throughout history, Cobra has always been pushing the envelope forcing the Joes to be on their toes and "Retaliation" isn't any different. With the leadership of Cobra Commander and the destructive manipulation of Zartan(Vosloo) and Firefly(Stevenson), the Joes won't find this to be an easy battle. I don't know about anybody else, but as I've said before it seems that a lot of movies are being splashed with a dose of terrorism and politics. Who knows the reason, but look at "Killing Them Soflty", "Zero Dark Thirty" or even "Argo" all of them are laced with politics and hints of terrorism. Are "they" trying to scare us through movies now? Interesting theory, maybe it's true and maybe it's not, but whatever it is, we will not go silently into the night. Unhinged Reviews will speak on it, talk about it and discuss it however and whenever we want. Got a little off topic, but it needed to be said. So "G.I. Joe Retaliation" is it worth seeing? Most definitely! Go check it out now so you can come back and we can talk about it. The movie is a quality 100 minutes or so of action-packed guns, bombs and awesomeness just waiting to show you why the Joes are needed as much today as they were in the 80s.
