![]() Finally, after waiting for what seemed like ages, I got the chance to see the movie, "Dredd". And after spending 1 1/2hrs of my life staring at the black box in the middle of the room ..(drum roll).. the survey says “Let Down”. Yes, I was disappointed with the outcome, this movie was a "Slo-Motion" drip. (All Hype) The Slo-Mo trip scenes were nice, but the overall finish of the movie lacked luster. No shine in this futuristic comic-based story-at all. It was a typical shoot-em up, blow em up, but Let-em down at the end movie. The Dredd character didn't have any more charisma than a bag of peanuts. Sylvester Stallone’s version of this film was definitely much better, especially with lines like “I am the Law” in his twisted lipped delivery. Even with all the back history shared in the dvd extras, this movie still does not live up to the hype. Die-hard fans of the “Dredd” comic book series may be happy with the manner in which the character acted droid-like(void of all the emotions we share in real-life), for most folks we could care less. Dredd's flat affect leaves nothing desirable in his 3D efforts at all. As I said before the slo-motion scenes were nice, but these are the only moments of the movie when you feel any type of enthusiasm. There may have been one or 2 more thrills, but overall I was disappointed. I was looking for the stars and got a rain cloud with a few splashes of lighting here and there. So, my recommendation is to wait for it to come on tv or grab it on Redbox. No need to even get it on demand, just wait for the cheapest method of viewing, it’s not bad for a “bored what to do moment”. -Unhinged Reviews-
