I Made A Choice When I Wasn't Given One
Not long after viewing this documentary, you will see that there is a slant in the overall message of the presentation. These survivors tell some powerful firsthand stories of being raped and how they chose to deal with the emotional pain the trauma caused in their lives.
They also tell you and share what it's like on the side of the unspoken that often do not get to tell their side of the story. Now, we're not talking about the criminals lurking, but moreso the children that often arise like phoenixs from the ash of so much brutality. Rape is a problem that affects all populations, demographics and religions in the world. No one is immune to the wounds such a travesty can leave on one's mind or flesh. The stories these survivors share will educate and inform you of the ripple "one wrong" can have on an entire generation. But in the midst of it all, some report that they found that the way to cope with the experience is to embrace the unexpected gifts they received during their moment in hell. My Mother Chose Me
Now, as we stated up above, "This is not for the sensitive". The reason we say this is because the discussion of Pro-Life Vs. Abortion becomes a prominent theme as the documentary rolls on.
It seems that on one side of the fence people feel that women should have the choice to abort a child that occurs as a result of a rape, while others disagree whole-heatedly. But isn't it the woman's choice? Shouldn't see have the right to choose whether or not she takes on a responsibility that she may not be ready for? Or do you feel that there should be no choice in the matter? It's a tough question, but on the other hand, many of the people we know and love today wouldn't be here if some people had that option. We've got to say that the sudden shift in the documentary's flow threw us for a loop, but in the end we found our way back.
