![]() "Visually engaging, it's like the rays of the sun have been captured on film" -Unhinged Reviews From the first glance of it's cover, one can easily tell that "Charlie Countryman" isn't going to be your typical movie-viewing experience. Just take a second to look at all the gratuitous eye candy ladled across the movie poster. Vivid colors splashed amongst familiar faces baring intense stares that catapult the beholder into an almost psychedelic euphoria. This is the face of "Charlie Countryman" and you can believe that the story within backs up the cover's bold promise of a visually-stimulating and equally captivating cinematic presentation! We've watched this film and here is our Unhinged Review. Before we even get into this one, we want to say that fans of Shia Labeouf and Evan Rachel Woods are in for a real treat! "Charlie Countryman" takes these two well-known American actors completely out of their rooted homeland and plants them headfirst into Bucharest, Romania. The interactions of American culture within the beauty of the Romanian populous provide the viewer with a rare chance to explore the country's magnificence through the free-spirited persona of one, Mr. Charlie Countryman. Evan's performance in this film is also engaging, as she plays a Romanian girl named Gabi, who has razors on her diamond edge. The film begins with Charlie enduring a family hardship that has him questioning his own sense of reality. Everything about his life is upside down, as he struggles to maintain sanity on his way to Bucharest, Romania. Along the way, he meets a man named Victor(Caramitru), who has a daughter by the name of (that's right you guessed it) Gabriela(Woods) waiting for him to return home. Victor asks a favor of young Charlie and it's this request that puts the Countryman on a perilous quest of passion and self-discovery within the city of Bucharest. From the first moments Charlie and Gabi meet, he is drawn to her and feels compelled to stay by her side. Even when dangerous men and cops begin antagonizing him, Charlie stands true. There's something about this woman, something he can't shake and it's this blinding attraction that is bringing him ever-closer to a life of pure bliss or an untimely demise. When you see some of the characters in this film, you'll wonder why Charlie doesn't just head for the hills and never look back. Love is a crazy thing isn't it? Well, to see just how far Charlie(Labeouf) is willing to go for his new inspiration, you'll have to watch the movie! Now, you didn't think we were just going to leave you with your mouth open did you(lol)? There is another interesting character in the film that we are going to share with you and his name is Nigel(Mikkelsen). This guy is trouble with a capital, "T" and he is one of the most malicious and treacherous characters that Charlie must overcome if he wishes to get through this movie, alive. Nigel is a cold-blooded killer whose very drive is keep Gabi close by his side and push anyone or anything that isn't him completely over the edge. Maybe the sexy Gabi isn't as innocent as Charlie would like to believe, but who are we to judge when this is a film about a man chasing a forbidden love. We thoroughly enjoyed this film, as it has intense drama and some comedic scenes laced throughout the 108 minute presentation. We also had the pleasure of watching an unexpected performance from one of Hogwart's elite in this compelling story and let us tell you, it's well worth the watch. Unhinged Reviews recommends this film for viewers that enjoy "real movies" with "real stories" that spark emotion and contemplation long after the experience. So what are you waiting for?
