![]() "Sometimes it takes more than having the same bloodline to be someone's brother" -Unhinged Reviews What would you do if you're brother chose a life exactly the opposite of everything you believe? How would you feel if just the very sight of your brother was a threat to your freedom? Would you still call him family? Brother? Hopefully you don't have to go to the extent these two men born of the same woman experience while finding each other. Clive Owen stars in Blood Ties, as Chris, a bad-ass shoot-your-face-off for nothing crook, while his little brother, Frank played by Crudup is a man of the law. The Conflict So what happens when you mix oil and water? They collide, but yet they somehow seem to coexist. It's not a pretty blend, but it's a bond nonetheless and that's what Chris and Frank must struggle to find as they attempt to maintain neutrality while straddling both sides of the law. Chris being a seasoned hard-core criminal, while Frank maintains a soft shoe portraying a tough cop. Now both of them have their differences, but they each share a similar downfall. So how do these two men make it through one dinner without killing each other? But then again, maybe you've experienced a similar paradox within your family? How did you work through it? Or should we say, "How are you working through it"? Is it possible to say "F" the law, but hug your brother who is the law himself? Can you send the "Bad Guy" to jail knowing full well that one day you may be asked to do the same to your brother? After Watching Blood Ties We've got to say it was a solid film. The plot was well developed, it wasn't overcooked and it delivered a compelling story. "Blood Ties" is one of those films you watch when you want something to chew on and swallow at a later time..lol It's also one that you can easily digest in two hours if you just take it at face value.
