"Blackhat" The Movie "Blackhat" is an interesting film about a super-hacker known as Nick, who is summoned by the authorities to assist in the capture of a cyber terrorist. The main character of the film, Nick(Hemsworth) does not look the average pimply-faced kid one would expect in a hacker film. The main reason for this one could assume would be that the hackers of today are not what they were during the time of War Games. No longer are computer geeks just sitting around eating Hohos and Cheetos while breaking into top secret government files. Nope. They are sophisticated, fit and some of even run multi-million dollar empires..lol Care to guess a few names? But going back to the film, Nick is found locked away in prison for violating a few rights or so they say. We don't think he did it..lol Okay, so we're a little biased when it comes to someone testing the limits..sue us ^_^ Anywho, Nick is reluctantly released from prison to help Hong Kong find the source of a recent attack on a coolant plant. Nick teams up with his college buddy,Chen, along with one sister named Lien to set off in search of the code. Can anyone think of the reason Nick would be able to help them? Could it be because the code used in the Hong Kong attack looks vaguely familiar to a code that Nick and Chen cooked up several years ago? Hmm..You'll have to watch to find out;) Hemsworth Is A Hacker With Brawn And Brains You know going in we were a little skeptical if Hemsworth could pull off a hacker role with the whole Norse God thing going on an all, but he pulled it off. The reason we feel he was able make the film stick is because they incorporated his natural brawn into the story. Plus, when you take into account the fact Nick begins his story in prison where a small framed man would not survive for long. Sorry, but in jail, you either get Big or possess a skill set that makes you indispensable. Another benefit that Hemsworth's size added to the film was in the action scenes. Yes, "Blackhat" has action scenes..lol And no it wasn't a super intense round of tetris, there's some real world action flying around Nick's head throughout the film. We don't want to give too much away, but "Blackhat" was worth the hack, we meant tickets..tickets..lol The Real Threat Of Cyber TerrorismAlright, alright, let's go... After Watching, "Blackhat" As we stated in the beginning, 'Blackhat" is a film that any techie should enjoy just for the sake of watching a programmer operate on "Expert" level..lol Nick in real life would probably be the guy drinking 4 bullet-proof coffees every morning before opening his Macbook Air and making the NSA think twice before logging on. -Unhinged Reviews- If you enjoyed this Unhinged Review of "Blackhat", let us know in the comments.
