![]() Captivity will not allow us to see the true beauty in any of God's creations" -Unhinged Reviews If you haven't seen "BLACKFISH" yet, your missing out on a quality documentary exposing some of the wrongs being done to one of our greatest, underwater treasures. This film takes you below the surface and shows just how a popular entertainment attraction like SeaWorld obtains it's notable stars. It's not as enchanting as you may think, we once felt the same way you do now, before watching this documentary. If your able to watch this film and not have the roses knocked off your glasses for at least a little while, then you are lost. Let's slip underneath the current, as we Unhinge, "BLACKFISH". Now most of you reading this probably haven't given much thought, if any, as to how Sea World came to be the big attraction that it is today. We didn't either, so don't feel like you're being singled-out. We said that to say this. After watching this documentary, no longer will you feel that Sea World is as harmless as the act they portray in live or televised performances. There is nothing magical about what they do or how they do it because quite simply, they make money off of a prisoner's misery. Yep, that's right, we said it. Sea World makes their money off of captive animals, namely "The Killer Whale"! When you watch this documentary, you will see how barbaric and cruel their methods of acquiring these magnificent animals are, as well as, what happens when the lights go out. This documentary is an eye-opener, it's amazing how one's point of view can shift under the right illumination. In this film, they will also tell the stories and struggles that some of the workers faced during their employment at Sea World. You know, perils such as near-death experiences that come with "handling" large creatures that never had a choice. The most shocking and damning footage throughout this whole documentary is the fact Sea World kept this information from us. They blew smoke up our arses and made us laugh, we thought it tickled, we liked it. For that, they should catch whatever hammer comes cracking down upon their whole franchise. If this sounds a little heated, it's because it is! Sea World fed the world lie after lie, all for that "Green Demon", "The Thin Idol" a.k.a "The All-American Dollar". They didn't give one single iota of what hell the whales went through, nor do they now. How can one continue to make money off of something or someone else's misery? It's sad that we've gotten to this point in our history and now it's the fish that get bullied. This sort of viewing experience may just have you pondering what other unjust acts are going on in the world that we so commonly support with ticket stubs. Been to the zoo lately? We're not going to go on a save the animal crusade, but we want you to think and be aware of what is happening all around us. It's documentaries like this that serve to pull back the blinders every now and again to remind us of what we're actually doing with this beautiful planet we live on. Are we helping or hurting it? Are we living in peace with the animals? Each other? What do you think?
