Just Beyond The Horizon
So as far as movies go, no film is complete without an element of mystery, suspense and some decent dialogue between characters. 10 Cloverfield Lane provides each of those three attributes with ease.
The film begins, by showing Michelle(Winstead) momentarily losing consciousness on the road..just before waking up in a room chained to the wall.
Now this isn't your ordinary chain because it's a Goodman chain and everybody knows Goodman is about as good as it gets..lol (Pun Intended)
So here we are with a young woman desperate to be free, unsure of her surroundings and trying to reassemble the last few minutes of her day.
When all of a sudden, in walks Mr. Stambler(Goodman) adding even more confusion to her dilemma, by telling her that it's not safe to go outside.
And when she questions why it's not safe, that's when the real story of Cloverfield begins.
What's Eating John Goodman?
Now once the movie gets rolling, it's obvious that everything is not what it seems. Or is it?
Is John Goodman still playing that teddy bear role or has he opted for something much more sinister and unpredictable? Is everything Goodman says a lie? Or is the anxiety Michelle feels towards her new surroundings just a byproduct of her mind slowly losing grip on the reigns of reality?
There's only one way to find out and I think you know what it is... But if you don't, it's called "Go To The Movies And Find Out For Yourself" ^_^
After Watching, 10 Cloverfield Lane
I've gotta say it was entertaining. It wasn't too over the top to the point it wasn't believable and yet it still had enough sci-fi elements to keep it just out of reality's reach.
As I said in the beginning, it's a small cast just comprised of 3 people, a bunker and one creative story. So if you're not doing anything this week, make it happen because life is more than work work work.
If you're a fan of John Goodman or this review, share it with another so that they too can become Unhinged \m/
