"You can hate on Lana Del Rey all you want, but this woman knows how to make hit records"
Some artist come into our lives and create songs that make us dance and giggle with friends. Lana Del Rey is not that type of artist. Lana is one of those few talents that can make you genuinely feel or long for a memory of a distant past. Her music has been called dark, cinematic, hell even Gothic, but we just call it quality.
So whether or not you know the music of Elizabeth Grant, take a moment to explore Paradise.
"Kiss me hard before you go..." Lana Del Rey(Summertime Sadness)
You know, another thing we find beautiful about music is that it's all open to interpretation. Someone can listen to Lana's song and say, it's so depressing and it glamorizes suicide, but you won't hear that kind of talk over here. You see, all death isn't physical and it doesn't always mean an ending. It can be a beginning of something greater, something more meaningful.
"Summertime Sadness" is a song that not only shows some of Elizabeth's ability to slip her vocal chords across the mic like a glove, but her ability to create a story. Even if you didn't see the video and just closed your eyes, you would feel still feel the emotional weight of this song.
"Choose your last words, this is the last time" Lana Del Rey (Born To Die)
Even more passion oozes yet again, as you dig into Paradise. The only controversy we see right now is maybe in some of the visuals she chooses to represent her music, but the message in the music is the same. "Love Hard, Love Deep, like it's your last day".
Is that so hard for folks to grasp? Everything isn't always short, sweet and sappy, sometimes people get hurt. People get banged up by bouncing off what life has to offer, but you know what? Life is what you make it. You can choose to be a part of it or wither away on the sidelines, it's really your choice.
It doesn't always matter what an artist meant when creating a song because what it means to you will be based on your own life experiences. How do Lana's songs make you feel so far?
"Hello, Hello, Ca-can you hear me? -Lana Del Rey (Without You)
We're telling you the hits..just..keep..coming! There is no stopping this woman! It's just something about her deeper than music that draws you in. Of course, her beauty is an obvious choice, but it's more than that, it's like her sound is unfiltered in a way that is just raw emotion.
