![]() In life you have to give props where props are due and Korn deserves every last one of em! Korn is one of the first metal groups I gravitated to, maybe it's because it's this whole nu metal genre people talk about? All I know is this song "Hollow Life" from the classic Untouchables album has a big deep feel that fills a void in, well, a Hollow Life. "We come to this place falling through time living a hollow life" -Korn "Is there every any wonder why we look to the sky? Searching space asking why?" -Korn Can you feel it? With lines like that how can you say the guys in the band aren't making relevant music? One thing that deters people from rock or metal or anything other than the usual top 100 fanfare is there lack of appreciation for real musicians. I feel that Korn has been able to give that raw metal sound, driving bass and awesome vocals in a package that is a brand of it's own. These gentlemen have quite an impressive body of work with over 8 albums worth of music to keep you rocking for years. Now back to topic. When I listen to "Hollow Life" it puts me in a reflective state. It creates questions such as "What am I doing? Where am I headed" and it's these types of questions that provide someone like me with a launching pad to infinite possibilities. The song fluctuates between balls to the wall and southern comfort(wait I meant to say soothing comfort) delivering that Hard-Rage and Soft-Intensity at the same time. Korn takes your mind hostage with this one, as they clearly demand answers from someone not of this world. Listen as they have a one -on- one with an infinite power. I will tell you that your neck may become sore if you're a person that enjoys a good head-bang every now and then. As you sway to this tune it's difficult not to find that zen, that trance like state that is..Untouchable -Unhinged Reviews
