Ke$ha has been called many things such as a rapper, singer-songwriter all the way to pop-star, but she may be in a category of her own.
Ke$ha's music was behind the scenes before she gained some momentum on Flo Rida's popular song, "Right Round". Since then she has become a consistent source of party-jams laced with plenty of electronica, synthesized-pop and auto-tune.
However, whatever you classify her as, you have to admit the girl has had some success in
the world of music. So, well take a brief moment to zoom in on "Sleazy" in this Unhinged Review.
The hook definitely grabs attention for starters and the production has that jungle get crazy on the dance floor vibe to it. Then we throw Ke$ha's talk-rap singy flow on top of it and next thing you know, you're on the floor dancing with sweat dripping into your eyes. You don't know how it happened, you just know that you're intoxicated by the song and loving every minute of it. I can't even say that I've really paid attention to the lyrics in this song, other than the hook. Not a lot of depth, but it's catchy as hell.
Thinking about it as I write this review, I can't really say that Ke$ha's music has much substance to it at all, but there's something that pulls you in. It's hard to put a finger on it and normally I'm not at a loss for words when talking about something I enjoy, but this one is a puzzle. It's almost like dancing to your neighbor's music when you hear filtered words and the bare-drum track banging through the thin wall of your apartment. In fact, I was just listening to "Your Love Is My Drug" earlier today and bobbing along to her rants about how much she loves some guy. I'm assuming Ke$ha's music is mainly for much younger listeners or those moments when you just want to dance to a catchy tune.
Either way, I just wanted to take a moment and share this "Sleazy" track with you because it's catchy as hell(lol).
