  Jack Johnson brings his brand of Hawaiian folk rock to Unhinged Reviews!  

  In a world where most people make music to tell a dismal tale, Jack makes it a point to lift your heart and spirit to the top of the palms.  "You and Your Heart" is a feel good tune encouraging you to live your life in a well-balanced manner.  When you listen to Jack's music you can almost see the coconuts at your feet and smell the sea water breezing by. 

  It's nice every now and then to come by a fresh sound that isn't saturated with a ton of mini-clones.

  I imagine folks would be hard pressed to replicate  Jack's beach friendly vibe without coming off as a

boy band from the 90s.  I was introduced to Jack's music a few years ago and I can say that I haven't been disappointed in the slightest. 

 Sometimes one doesn't want to listen to hardcore rap/rock or even classical and sometimes one just wants to grab a cool beverage and wriggle their toes in the sand.  If your the wriggling toes in the sand type, then Jack Johnson is your man.

  The song starts off with Jack flicking a few muted strings on his guitar, before gradually opening to a beautiful marriage of shakers, vocals and carefree spirits all around.  The hook in this song has that infectious appeal where once you hear it, it's stuck in your head for a few days.  The lyrics aren't that complex, but the instrumentation and message is the strong point of the song.  I believe, even if he didn't sing in the song, it would still have been a sensation.

  Haven't we all done things in life that didn't exactly agree with, but did them anyway? Well, it seems that Jack is just calling us out in a light-hearted catchy tune.  Essentially we all draw lines in the sand, but it's these same lines that create our self-contained prisons.  Escaping from our barricade is ideal and it can be a reality with enough hard work and discipline on the part of the artist.  Just in case, that one went over anyone's head, the artist being referred to is you.

  So what are you waiting for? Let your mind and heart align- Go where your desire takes you!
