"A great song can make us cry, shake or convulse, but when it comes to Dev, We Dance! "
We're sure you've heard of this electro-pop angel by now, but if you haven't, let us shed a little more light on this ray of sunshine. Dev is a vibrant young artist that has built up quite a name for herself, cranking out hit after hit ever since she blew up on Myspace around 2010.
You've probably heard one or more of her most popular tracks like "In The Dark" or "Like A G6" and didn't even know it was her. So we're here today to talk a little bit about her, but mostly her music from The Night The Sun Came Up. So, shall we Unhinge?
Are you out there? Can you hear me? - Dev(Dancing Shoes)
There's just something about this woman's music that gets in you and makes even the most rhythmically-challenged dancer shake a leg. We've listened to "TNTSCU" album countless times and since she's gearing up for another release, we figured, "What the Hell" let's do a piece on her. Below, you will find three of the songs that we enjoyed most from her album and the first one, of course is "In My Trunk". So press play and read on, if you're not too busy dancing(lol).
So from the sound of the song that just played, we're sure you can tell that Dev isn't afraid of blending a little hip with her hop(pun intended). It's for this reason that we feel she has been able to reach fans listening to other genres of music not often associated with Electronica or even Pop for that matter. This is one of Dev's strong points because she's not only proven that she can rock over a gritty beat, but that she is confident in adding her own flavor to any canvas placed before her. Now, moving right along into "Breathe", we hear her embrace a bigger stage of sound.
Well, what do you think so far? Or are you still dancing(lol)? As we mentioned early, Dev's sound is geared to make us dance and forget about the woes of the day. When you listen to her music, you're instantly ready for a good night on the town with friends or hyped to have an interesting time all by yourself. We enjoy this type of sound, as it is not one flooding our minds with erratic notions of jewelry or violence, its' just pure music. Music that takes us out of the humdrum and allows us to freely enjoy moments like The Night The Sun Came Up.
So here's one more Dev quickie before we go titled, "Lightspeed". This track is perfect for those long drives down the highway when you can crank your stereo as loud as it will go. Cheers!
If you enjoyed this Unhinged Review of Dev's sound, please share with others to promote good music, as well as, the site. And as always, feel free to tell us your thoughts about Dev or the review, below in the comments. Thanks for reading!
