![]() "Calvin Broadus a.k.a Snoop Doggy Dogg is one hell of an innovator, a rap icon and without a doubt one of the best to do it" -Unhinged Reviews Okay, we are going to just jump right in this one, by saying that Snoop Dogg changed the game, hands down! A lot of artists have made waves and created a stir on the West coast, but not many have had as much crossover appeal as the slim spitter. Calvin came out with one of the most laid-back flows that has captivated and held our attention, since he first hit the scene with his classic, DoggyStyle.
In 93, from the moment you put this album on, until 6 in the morning, you already knew what kind of night it was going to be! Banging beats, good friends and plenty of "good vibes" to go around for eons. Now, some of you may have not been around during this album's heyday, but you can still get your party jumpin by throwin on any jewel from this classic. Songs like "Gin and Juice" or "Pump Pump" will have you swearin you were riding down Crenshaw with Snoop and the homies..lol The album's that good. Doggystyle is chockful of hardcore production and some quotable, gangsta arse rhymes..lol There's no other way to say it. This album was before Snoop was dropping it like it's hot or talking about how beautiful a girl can be, this is when Snoop was raw! Blood-thirsty and hungry, but forever ready to put his game down on wax for all to witness. So before we post the first music vid, we are going to tell you that Doggystyle is soaked in explicit content. Why? Because the D.O double G didn't water it down. He gave it to us raw, real and as honest as he could be. Enjoy the first selection, "Gin And Juice".
So now that you've heard two of the gems from this classic 93' album that solidified Snoop's career, what do you think? Do you think he should have remained hardcore gangster or are you happy with his evolution? We're pretty happy with his transition and growth as an artist and a man walking through life. But, we remember when... -Unhinged Reviews- If you enjoyed our Unhinged Review of Doggystyle, please share this with others to promote good music, as well as, to support the site. Thanks for reading! Oh and here's one more classic vid, but this is from another time in his journey. Enjoy!
