With so many good titles coming out this year, it can be a little difficult to decide just what to watch. Well have no fear, Unhinged Reviews is here to help guide you through this summer's cluster of hits. We're always on the lookout for a good film to enjoy so we don't mind doing the hard work for you. Below are three movies that look to be promising in the next few weeks. Have you heard about these warm weather hits?
"Man Of Steel" is actually coming out this weekend and it looks like they may have finally got it right! Let's just set the record straight, there will only be one Christopher Reeve and I think trying to replace him is where the other efforts hung up. With "Man Of Steel" it seems like they are going in a different direction, but hopefully it's not too far off from the original character. From what we can see in the previews it looks to have more of the events that shaped our caped hero rather than just his awesome power.
Russel Crowe stars in the film which adds points just because it's Russel Crowe. I think if you put his Aussie/Zeland accent in a jar of Mayonnaise it would sell without any difficulty at all. So whose going to see it this weekend? We know we are!
"World War Z" is second up to bat! This movies looks to be a home-run hands down without a question. It's Brad Pitt's first "Big" picture since "Inglorious Bastards" and this is by no means a comedy. From what we can see in the previews it looks to have some world-wide infection threatening to quickly decimate the population. Who doesn't love a good End-Of The-World film?
My hopes for the film are that it has some awesome zombie-like sequences and plenty action shots of the military mowing down infected by the hundreds with rapid-fire artillery. Looking for some good action with a purposeful plot. What are your hopes for the film?
"The Lone Ranger" looks to have some quality Depp in it! The whole world loved him as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy and here he is again in another strikingly familiar character role as "Tonto" . I don't know know about you, but I think Depp's at his best when he can get lost in a good character role. It's almost as if he enjoys being the eccentric loon when choosing his titles, but either way he makes for an interesting watch.
One can assume from watching the previews and reading the title in this movie that it will be a little like the show, but with loads more action. Armie Hammer, Depps co-star seems to be playing the straight man in this 3-ring circus. Here's to watching in the hopes that all the Hollywood special effects don't let us down at the box office.
So tell us, which ones you are planning to see?
